Steadily Progressing

Well, my guild, "The Sundering", is now only working on hard-modes, but with summer coming on people are going on vacation and etc etc, but surprisingly it has not slowed us down much. We haven't had a chance to mess around with hard-mode Mimiron yet in 25-man. I tanked the last few nights in 25-man, and it was nice...the job security of being a tank. :P I'll keep you guys posted as to how it goes.

So patch 3.2 is on the way?

If you haven't heard they have opened up the PTR to testing on Patch 3.2. I, myself have not copied my toon, I don't think I will, but I'm VERY anxious to see the changes. To my knowledge Feral DPS is getting a bit of a nerf, but I really don't think that its going to be that big of a difference. Read up on the patch notes here: http://wowraid.com/index.php?;tpstart=4#3

Its usually a month after a patch is applied to a PTR that it is released live, but its so hard to predict when it is actually going to hit the live realms.

I see all this flaming about how they are making Naxx and heroics drop the conquest badges. I really think that its a good decision, just because it'll allow more people access to more gear and hence more of the playerbase will see what the end-game has to offer. Also, have you guys seen the gear that you can purchase with champions seal's? Its pretty much some of the best stuff that you can get without getting into beginner style raiding. Check it out, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44990#currency-for
My only hope for in the next content patch is a release of new 2h staves and polearms by badges. We all remember, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34898 it wasn't bad and if you had never EVER raided before the badge gear would probably get you into Mt. Hyjal. I, myself did not really start raiding til March of 2008, so all that badge gear got me really geared and into some really good guilds, hopefully this can help some players to become competent raiders.

Moment of Silence

Ladies and Gentlemen,
On the 15 of this month, my grandfather passed away, Romero San Agustin. He had colon cancer and had his chemo stopped a few months ago. He was a great man, someone I sincerely looked up to. I was lucky enough to get sent to NAS North Island for a few days the week before he died and North Island is only a few minutes away from where he and my grandmother lived so I spent quite a bit of time with him before he passed. He was also able to see his great-grandson one last time; of that I am extremely happy about.

Fair winds and following seas, Grandpa.

To all the fathers out there; Happy Father's Day.

The Recent Nerfing of Ulduar

Well, my guild is currently clearing Ulduar in half the time that it took when we first started, so we are down to 2-3 raid nights vice our four night schedule, but steadily progressing through the hard-modes in both in 10 and 25-man. Last night was the only raid that I was able to attend since I got back from school in San Diego, CA. So my attendance is sketchy even as an initiate. But 5200 dps as feral on Ignis The Furnace Master is something I want to brag about :P. Moving on to the nerfs.

The fact that all these nerfs are simply not working for alot of the hardcore raiders out there. Are they really necessary or is Blizzard simply making the content more accessible to their playerbase? One of my officers said, that they are "dummying down the content". Are they? I, myself think that they are, but I was never in the top 100 US or anything crazy like that, maybe top 10-15 Alliance on server but never anything that crazy, that being said I was never really on the bleeding edge of content. Perhaps, at one time I wanted to be, but after a short while of doing that I decided to not, its WAAAY to demanding and just would not work for my schedule. I've read several blogs on how Blizzard is accelerating the whole playerbase, even seen some posts say that Ulduar has been on its way to being like Naxxramas. Hopefully not, but ladies and gentlemen lets allow Blizzard to do this and hopefully the next tier of content is where it draws the line between hardcore and casual. Now about the hardcore and casual, in my opinion the "line" between hard-core and casual actually has a name: Algalon. But will he also be "dumb downed"? Kind of how in TBC they removed attunements for raid content? We'll see. As a side note I've got nothing against the casual players but the fact that to feel any sense of achievement I have to activate "hard-mode" on bosses.
In my personal experience the best experience I ever had was when my guild at the time down Lady Vashj, granted it was post 3.0, but MAN that encounter was rough. I make reference to the Mimiron encounter similar to Lady Vashj just because there is SO much stuff going on. Also in reference to Mimiron, his hard mode is like taking Vashj and Archimonde and putting them together and you "Firefighter!". Just my reference though, if anyone shares that please let me know!
P.S
I know that I do not have much of an audience as of yet, but "The Sundering" of Cenarius is currently recruiting a Shadow Priest and Restoration Druid for their 25-man raid team, www.the-sundering.com, give it a look-see!

Introduction

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen!
My RL name is Nathan, my main is Calil on the server, Cenarius, Alliance. I'm currently in the guild "The Sundering" they are a great bunch of people and I'm very happy that I ended up with them after server hopping a few times and being in some really great guilds but I feel like I wasn't an asset to their raid component.
This is the first time I've tried blogging. It's pretty much just an outlet for my thoughts and feelings towards certain subjects pertaining to the videogame World of Warcraft, video games in general, and whatever I think rates discussion or writing. I'm going to leave the comments enabled simply because I like stimulated debate about certain topics, NOT FLAMING. There is always a better way to do business ladies and gentlemen and simply saying "This is messed up!" Without providing some form of correction and be disrespectful about is not the way to do it.

A few things that you will NOT see on this blog is too much theory crafting about World of Warcraft, I leave that to the bloggers like Darksend to name one. You will see however my experiences going on in real life, as well as the video game.

Moving on, let's talk about the guild that I'm in "The Sundering" they are a pretty established raiding guild on the server "Cenarius", Alliance side. I've been in their guild for about 3 weeks and I missed out on one week of raiding because of I got sent away from home for school for four days and that somewhat pissed me off, but was a blessing in disguise for reasons that I won't disclose now. The place I got sent to was also where a few of my relatives live so it was nice to see them again. As of right now my main spec is Feral DPS which I am fairly new at, and I find it VERY fun. As stated above I am new to the server but it was nice going into Ulduar with this guild and being in the top 7 melee dps as an initiate...so I'm pretty proud of that!
